Healing Room Practice
Healing On Streets

Healing Room - Practice & Belief

Simply put, we offer prayer to Christians and the general community who would like God to heal them. We do this both by taking prayer out onto the streets with The Vine Church Prayer Partners and Healing on the Streets. We also use The Hebron Healing room which is open once a week for healing prayer.  Individuals will either make an appointment or just turn up.  After being served a drink they will be encouraged to fill-in a form which outlines the area they would like prayer for.

A team of two or three trained members will then spend 10 minutes or so praying and seeking God for direction on how to pray for the individual seeking healing. Then the person requesting prayer will receive prayer.  Before they leave they will be given what we call a 'prescription', which will list the ministry they have received and also any scriptures or words they may have received.  The result of these will be faith which will need to activated through meditation and confession.  They are also encouraged to return for more prayer until they have received their healing from the Lord. We keep a record of the ministry received so that the next team involved in praying for the person knows the extent of the ministry already administered.  These records are totally confidential and kept in a safe place.

What We Believe

The Bible is our inspiration which teaches in both testaments that God is a healing God.  We read in Exodus15:26 about one of God's name is Jehovah Rapha God Who heals His people. Looking at the lives of Elijah and Elisha in the books of Kings, we see that they healed the sick and performed miracles as the Lord enabled them. We read in the psalms that He heals all of His people's diseases Ps103:3. In Isaiah53 we have a description of the Messiah, the Suffering Servant.  Part of His ministry was to bear in His body (death) the sins and sicknesses of the world Isaiah53:4,5.  We then find this scripture quoted  by the apsotle Matthew chapter eight and verse seventeen. This is found in the midst of a phase of Jesus' healing ministry.  Jesus as part of the disciples preparation and training equipped heal the sick Matthew10:7,8. In the book of Acts from chapter three we see them healing the sick which continues through this book.

Our reading of the New Testament would see signs and wonders as evidence of the presence of the Kingdom of God.  We would also see that the early church believed that healing was part of the atonement alongside the forgiveness of sins.
